My research focuses on the development and use of 3D cell culture models called organoids. My current project at Aarhus University aim to develop and characterize a bovine organoid model from cow mammary epithelial cells. The goal is to find a suitable culture medium for cell differentiation and activation of signaling pathways involved in milk production and secretion. Our long-term goal is to use this model for the production of milk constituents as innovative food ingredients.
