Designing virtual eating experiences that enhance sensory and consumer perception


Want to design new virtual reality eating experiences?



In recent years, virtual reality (VR) and immersive technologies have become increasingly accessible, sophisticated, and widespread. They offer an exciting opportunity to overcome physical limitations of traditional research environments. By combining audiovisual input from the VR headset with the smell and taste of food in physical reality, we can create novel mixed reality eating experiences that would be difficult or impossible to set up in the real world.

The MSc project focuses on designing VR eating experiences that augment food flavour and developing new methods for measuring consumer feedback in VR. The student will be part of planning, executing, and analysing data from the studies.
