Generating automated statistical sensory reports using locally run AI models in R

Can AI automate the statistical analysis and reporting of sensory data? In this project, you will explore how locally run AI models can turn statistical output into clear, meaningful sensory reports—and investigate how to make this process reliable and reproducible

The project aims to automate the analysis and reporting of data from sensory analysis using locally run AI models in R.

The student will investigate how local AI models can be used to interpret both numerical, textual, and statistical output and transform the results into clear, meaningful verbal reports.

An important part of the project will be to determine best practices for using local AI models, including the level of model complexity required, appropriate parameterisation (e.g. temperature), and how specific the prompt input needs to be.

The project will also explore how to evaluate AI-generated interpretations relative to effect sizes and investigate which parameters should be specified for each individual project and which can be handled automatically
